U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge James H. Hopkins of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida has appointed the University of Puerto Rico Retirement System as Lead Plaintiff in Carvelli v. Ocwen Financial Corp. et al.
Four firms were in contention for Lead Plaintiff but ultimately Judge Hopkins sided with AF&T — counsel for the University of Puerto Rico Retirement System — finding the firm’s pedigree and experience gave it pole position to represent the interests of the entire class along with UPR’s “willingness and ability to lead.”
